About Us

We are a group of companies operating since 1942 in Manaus, a city in the Brazilian Amazon. Our companies operate in diverse activites, including propane gas distribution (Fogás), department store retailing (Bemol), internet shopping mall (eCenter) and export of Amazon natural products (Benchimol, Irmão).

The export of regional products was initiated by our founder Samuel Benchimol Z´L. Aside from being an entrepreneur, Samuel was also a professor (Emeritus at Universidade do Amazonas), a writer (of more than 110 books and articles on the Amazon), community leader and researcher.
